The Nikon D60 is a great entry level camera. It´s my first DSLR but I have worked with several Nikon SLR cameras in the past. I also bought the 18-200mm lens and SB-600 flash, which is a great combination for me. I can imagine that real professional photographers would need more, but for me - as a pro-amateur photographer - this camera is just right!

I bought the Nikon D60 body with the 18-55 VR kit lens. The camera was pretty easy to pick up and the user guide is helpful as well. Overall, I'm very happy with the camera. It takes very good images, especially under low-light conditions. It looks like Nikon has resolved a lot of the shortcomings of the D40 and D40x by either fixing the issues or default settings. I'm quite pleased with my investment and think the Nikon D60 is a good SLR camera for those in the prosumer-hobbyist level of user.
