Canon PowerShot photo gallery : Surprising; that is how the design of Canon's latest digital compact camera can be called. It aims at the female consumer, although I can see a much broader target group than just the female half of our population, to be honest. With its availability in many different colours, the design reminds me of the retro refrigerators. You know, the ones with the nicely curved edges and the shiny material used. In any case; I have received a PowerShot E1 sample model from Canon right before my departure to the Photokina show. Upon my return from a hectic week at the Photokina, where a lot of interesting news will be revealed this year, I will review the Canon PowerShot E1 with priority.

The Canon PowerShot E1 digital camera offers a variety of 17 setting programs, among which a new Easy Mode that sets all the settings of the camera automatically, ideal for the newbie who is often likely to choose the wrong setting. Canon's DIGIC III image processor controls functions like Face detection, and in addition ensures the camera's fast response, stores images rapidly and compensates noise. iSAPS technology uses captured data to optimize the main settings for the camera for every picture automatically.

The Canon PowerShot E1 digital camera is one of the new compact cameras on my priority list to be reviewed soon. In addition to the camera test in practice at which operation and functionality of the camera are evaluated together with the captured photos, the technical camera test in our DIWA Lab is crucial to come to a balanced final conclusion. The Canon PowerShot test photos were taken with a full production model which means that this camera is equal to the model that the consumer can expect to purchase. The Canon PowerShot photos were taken in Purmerend, The Netherlands. The medium sized pictures have been reduced to enable correct reproduction and compressed to ensure a faster loading time. The large original Canon E1 photos are the original, unedited sample photos.
