Panasonic Lumix cameras at Photokina 2008

Dennis Hissink : 2008-10-01 00:10:00
Panasonic DMC-G1 camera at Photokina 2008 : In our opinion, the most elevating news of the Photokina 2008 came from Panasonic. The recently announced Micro FourThirds System, by Panasonic and Olympus, was followed by a massive presentation of the new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G1 at the Photokina show. The LUMIX G1 caught your eye everywhere you looked in the ambitious Panasonic booth. And in exchange for your driver’s license, you were able to receive a working sample of the Panasonic G1 to get acquainted with the world's first Micro FourThirds System camera on the show floor. A spectacular show around the G1 put even more emphasis on Panasonic's new flagship that played its leading role with verve.

Panasonic Evolta batteries

Panasonic Evolta alkaline batteries : Proving that there is still room to enhance the performance of batteries, Panasonic introduced the EVOLTA battery, which is recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s “longest lasting AA alkaline battery cell” in more devices. The recognition was the first of its kind for Guinness, which created a new category for batteries. The Panasonic EVOLTA Alkaline battery lasts longer in more devices than the company’s own previous-generation AA alkalines as well as those from other brands. “I believe that EVOLTA is the solution for all consumers that will enhance everyday life by delivering superior energy solutions,” said Matt Sora, vice president of marketing for Panasonic Battery Corp.

Panasonic G1 test photos : Right before the Photokina, I found some time to work with the new Panasonic G1 for a short period of time. As far as I'm concerned, this is the most interesting development of the year 2008. A while ago, Panasonic introduced the Micro FourThirds system in cooperation with Olympus, which is a further developed camera system based on the Four Thirds standard, shortly after which Panasonic introduced the new G1. This is even more surprising since you would not expect this kind of innovative modification to the interior of the traditional camera by an electronics manufacturer. On the other hand, perhaps you would expect it from a manufacturer as Panasonic, who might have a different view on photography.

Panasonic Lumix G

Mark Peters : 2008-09-22 20:45:00
Panasonic LUMIX G prototype : During a Panasonic Press event, at which the new Micro Four Thirds system was evaluated and further explained, Panasonic also revealed the development in process of a new Micro FourThirds system camera. Panasonic already claims that it will introduce the world's smallest High Definition system camera in 2009. More information will probably be revealed at the upcoming PMA 2009 in Las Vegas. The prototype referred to as Panasonic LUMIX G, seems quite similar to the new Panasonic LUMIX G1 however, at first sight a number of striking features stand out. On top of the body a (stereo) microphone is positioned and on the back, top right side, a red button especially for HD movie capture is placed.

Panasonic LX3 review

Dennis Hissink : 2008-09-22 20:20:00
Panasonic LX3 review : Two years after the LX2, Panasonic are once again making themselves heard. The Panasonic LX series aims at the serious photographer with high demands concerning image quality and performance. When the LX1 was succeeded, Panasonic had raised the resolution to 10 Megapixels. A decision that was not supported by the demands of the serious photographer, however, it came from marketing strategy. This resulted in enhanced specifications on paper for the LX2, yet did not offer a better or even slightly improved performance from a technical point of view.

Panasonic DMC-G1

Ilse Jurriën : 2008-09-12 15:30:00
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 digital system camera : Panasonic announced the release of the DMC-G1, an exciting new digital interchangeable lens camera that is based on the new Micro Four Thirds System Standard. Combining a downsized body and advanced camera features that realize the operational comfort even as easy as that of compact cameras, the super-mobile G1 shatters the old notion that all digital SLRs are bulky, heavy and hard to use. This, plus the superior picture quality made possible by a 4/3-type image sensor, draws a clear line between the new-generation Panasonic Lumix G1 and all conventional digital SLR cameras.
