SanDisk start selling MiniSD card in Japan

Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-20 10:51:38
SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) announced today that it has started selling miniSD™ flash memory cards through retail stores in Japan making SanDisk the world\'s first company to sell the new small-size cards to retail consumers. Sales of the SanDisk miniSD cards, which started this month, come as the first mobile phones with slots for the card are entering the Japanese market. The new miniSD card format was introduced by SanDisk for sale to OEM customers in March 2003, and is being sold to consumers through retail outlets with a complementary adapter that converts the miniSD card into the SD card form factor. The adapter allows the miniSD card to fit into existing SD card slots.
