Nikon introduces a new VR and SWM 200-400mm lens

Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-29 14:41:06
Today Nikon introduces the world's first 2x supertele lens with VR (Vibration Reduction) and SWM (Silent Wave Motor). The AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 200-400mm f4G IF-ED lens combines a supertele range with the benefits of Vibration Reduction that allows users to capture images under difficult light conditions. With the Vibration Reduction system a slower shutter speed can be used to capture images without the use of a tripod. This can be achieved in Normal and in Active mode. The VR-system can also automatically recognize a situation where panning is used to capture an image. The lens features 24 glass elements in 17 groups where four ED-glass elements take care of sharp and contrasty results when used with film of digital media.

Nikon announces two new DX Nikkor lenses

Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-29 14:38:42
Today Nikon announces the introduction of two new DX Nikkor lenses that will stand next to the already introduced AF-S DX 12-24mm f4G IF-ED lens. The new AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f2.8G IF-ED and the new AF DX Fisheye Nikkor 10.5mm f2.8G ED are different lenses giving the Nikon digital photographer a new creative way of capturing images. This new lens, the Nikkor AF DX Fisheye 10.5mm f2.8G ED, offers an incredible 180? picture angle with all of Nikon DX format digital SLRs. This new lens offers great creativity and flexibility for all digital Nikon photographers. The DX Fisheye Nikkor lens exhibits the same incredible depth of field and unique perspective characteristics of traditional fisheye lenses.

Second Vibration Reduction lens for Nikon range

Dennis Hissink : 2003-07-20 16:38:36
Nikon have announced a new Vibration Reduction (VR) lens, the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED – a range only available from Nikon. In addition to the VR system which minimises blur caused by camera shake, this new optic incorporates advanced features such as SWM for quiet operation and is even smaller than its predecessor, the AF Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6D IF. The AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6 IF-ED was developed in response to the demands from mid- and higher-range SLR users for a more affordable, highly portable high-power VR zoom lens. The new lens offers 5x high-power zoom capability and wideangle coverage from 24mm.
