HasselbladHasselblad FlexColor software : The Hasselblad FlexColor software for image capture and processing continues to set new standards for digital photography. The software has always been free of charge for Hasselblad users. Digital correction for vignetting implemented as DAC level III completing Hasselblad’s development of digital lens corrections, which started out with correction for color aberration (DAC level I) and distortion (DAC level II). The correction is continuously adjustable between 0 and 100%. andheld capture at longer exposure times is improved by a short capture delay after the mirror-up movement. This minimizes vibration during exposure. The optional delay is 50 msec per default, and can be set from 0 to 200 msec.

The Ultra-Focus functionality, which covers special sensor positioning and correction for aperture dependent focus position, has now been expanded to correct for the optical effects of light passing through cover glass and filter glass in front of the CCD sensor. Calculating the improvements in sharpness are achievable by processing Hasselblad’s digital lens models with metadata on actual aperture and sensor. The firmware of any H-camera body or HxD-camera body can now be automatically updated through the FireWire connection using FlexColor as the interface.

The burst rate of the range of Hasselblad H3D and CF products has improved continuously from the introduction of fast Ultra-DMA handling of read/writes on the latest CF cards, as eg. SanDisk Extreme IV.
