KodakKodak partners with DSG : Eastman Kodak Company announced a partnership with electronics retailing giant DSG international plc, to exclusively supply the new Kodak All-In-One inkjet printers in the UK market through DSGi’s PC World, Currys and Currys.digital outlets. DSGi - also known as Dixons - will carry the new Kodak inkjet printers starting in June. “We dedicate considerable resources to identifying original new products for our outlets and we believe the Kodak EasyShare All-in-One Printers not only offer consumers the freedom to print documents and photos frequently, easily and affordably, they also have a pioneering quality which will appeal to our customers,” said Peter Duncombe, buying director, DSG international plc.
Kodak partners with electronics retailing giant DSGKodak consumer inkjet market
The decision to partner with Europe’s leading electronics retailing group follows Kodak’s groundbreaking entry into the consumer inkjet market with printers that can save consumers up to 50 percent on everything they print, compared to other consumer inkjet printers. PC World, Currys Superstores and Currys.digital stores will stock the Kodak EasyShare 5300 and 5500 All-in-One Printers at $199.99 USD (£139 RRP) and $299.99 USD (£209 RRP) respectively, enabling consumers to affordably print crisp, sharp documents and Kodak lab-quality photos at home using premium, pigment-based inks. The new printers combine ultimate levels of print quality and ease-of-use, while offering unparalleled low total cost of ownership.

DSG international - Electronics retailing giant
“Our commitment to changing the rules in the inkjet industry in favor of the consumer is reflected in our decision to partner with DSG international, a quality consumer electronics giant dedicated to bringing its customers the very best in consumer-oriented innovation, first,” said Julian Baust, Chairman & Managing Director, Kodak Limited.

Kodak premium pigment based ink
Kodak EasyShare AiO Printers use Kodak’s premium, pigment-based ink, priced at $9.99 USD (£6.99) for a cartridge of black ink and $14.99 USD (£9.99) for a five-ink color cartridge (RRP). This pricing enables consumers to print up to twice the number of pages compared to other consumer inkjet printers. When the Kodak Photo Value Pack is purchased, a 4 x 6-inch photo costs as little as 10 cents (7p) per print.

Kodak KodaColor technology
Kodak EasyShare AiO Inkjet Printers feature exclusive KodaColor Technology that enables consumers to cost-effectively print crisp documents and Kodak lab-quality photos. KodaColor Technology is a combination of four key elements - pigment-based inks, micro-porous photo papers, color and image science, and the Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS) print head - that deliver outstanding results for general printing of text and graphics and stunning color photos. The Kodak EasyShare 5300 printer will be available in June 2007 in all PC World, all Currys Superstores and all Currys.digital stores. The Kodak EasyShare 5500 printer will be available in July 2007 in all PC World stores and selected Currys Superstores. Online shoppers will also be able to purchase the printers from related DSG international e-tailers and the Kodak Store.
