Leica Photokina booth : There it was - the stall - almost unbelievable but it really was there…. Leica. Leica has launched a digital counter offensive from practically nowhere. The period leading up to and during Photokina 2006 saw the introduction of 2 Leica compact cameras, a SLR camera, two Leica lenses and an attractive Leica M8 Digital camera. The collaboration between Leica and Panasonic seems to paying off. Leica's attractive stall was totally in black and fabulous looking with beautiful, black Apple note books at the reception. It was all very classy, the sort of artistic statement that Leica has not forgotten how to pull off.

Leica M8 Digital
The top piece of the collection of new Leica cameras was undoubtedly the Leica M8 digital. Leica fans have been talking about this model for a long time and have had to be very patient. However, Leica fans who took the trouble to visit Photokina 2006 were finally able to hold the Leica M8 Digital. I noticed that it was a real wrench for them to let go of it again. Leica has designed the M8 Digital without making any compromises.
Leica Photokina booth - M8 Digital
The Leica M8 Digital has a beautiful design and has a unique allure in its simplicity. A fatal combination for Leica fans, as I saw during my visit to the Leica stall. Grown men were reduced to behaving like kids in a toyshop, as even a glimpse of the camera was enough to make their hearts beat faster. Admittedly, the Leica M8 Digital looks fantastic and will probably give great results, but come on boys, it's only a camera!
Leica M8 digital - Price tag
